TryInternetDating.com was developed as a resource for people interested in online dating, Internet personals, chat services, video dating and other dating services via the World Wide Web.
Laguna Beach, CA April 2nd, 2004
TryInternetDating.com was unveiled today as a resource for single adults interested in learning more about Internet dating and online personals. The site's editors "Ken & Barbie" publish
their "cliffs notes" while using various online dating sites. The reviews are straightforward and, at times, humorous. The site also includes articles on online dating safety
and other valuable tips –such as how to create a video profile and how to write your first email "Hello". The site provides a free and fast portal to many of the
Internet dating sites available today.

Online Dating Gains Worldwide Acceptance
In September 2003, ComScore (an online research firm) estimated the number of online "personals" profiles to be around 40 million.
Specialty Match Network believes there are close to 2 thousand sites catering
to Internet Dating,Online Personals,
Video Chat,Video Profiles and
Dating Services.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, over 70 million adults in the United States are single. They estimate this number to
exceed 100 million by 2010. 60% of the population active on the Internet are single. Now that Internet Dating is gaining
social acceptance, singles are openly admitting among friends they've dated someone they met on the Internet, in record numbers.
Social acceptance of online dating has been helped by several factors: Hollywood's Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan played characters
who met online in "You've Got Mail" and most recently eHarmony.com has placed real customers in their television ads that
have met and married after meeting online. Society has acknowledged Online dating as an acceptable and safe way for singles to meet.
"Cliffs Notes" help save time and frustration for singles interested in Internet Dating.
Most of the online dating sites require visitors to fill out a profile to gain access to the site, search members and
check out the features. True, many sites do not charge people until they actually find someone they want to exchange
email with, but people still need to invest the time and energy filling out these profiles just to see what is behind
the curtain and experience the community of members and the site's technology.
It's estimated that it takes an average of 20 minutes to complete an online profile on many of these sites. Few take
less time, many take much longer. Ken and Barbie allow people to read about their experiences from both a male and female
perspective before they invest the time and energy to gain access to the various site profiles.
"It's no different than reading a review before you go to a movie", stated Jim Smith, EVP of
Specialty Match Network, Inc the company that developed
TryInternetDating.com. "We wanted to provide consumers with a snapshot
view of Ken and Barbie's online dating experiences while creating
a web destination where other online dating users can also post their comments."
As the site evolves, Ken and Barbie plan on adding the ability for people to post comments regarding their
online dating experiences, advice to others, suggestions and other tips
for improving your online profile, essay questions, photos and more.
TryInternetDating.com is the fourth site in the
Specialty Match Network. It follows the corporate site at
www.SpecialtyMatch.com, our dating directory portal at
www.eOnlineDatingSites.com and the company's first niche
online dating site for country music lovers
www.MyCountryMatch.com.
